Our friends Yoshi, Hector, and their daughter Heidis (shown here with their nephew Douglas) came to the U.S. country legally last year fleeing death threats from Colombian mobsters and requested asylum. Like most immigrants, they simply want to be safe and build a better life for themselves in the U.S.A. After their most recent court appearance in El Paso, Texas, they were detained by ICE after leaving their asylum hearing. They are currently in immigration detention in San Antonio, Texas.
We're currently raising funds to pay for legal representation as part of their asylum application, and are hoping to get them out of detention. Yoshi, Hector, and Heidis are wonderful, kind, caring people who brighten the lives of everyone around them. Please help us free them from detention.
