Help Free Tita R from Inhumane Detention

Donation protected
On March 14th, 2025, our 71-year-old Filipina mother, Tita R, was detained in Raleigh, NC. She was shackled and transported to a Georgia detention facility. She missed several days of her critical kidney and blood pressure medication and almost fainted while she was there. The shackles had caused her leg to swell after her transport. She was placed in a large room with many other detainees in inhumane conditions. She spent several weeks there.

She was then abruptly shackled and transported to a facility in Kentucky, was told she would be transported to Chicago, but was instead transported to Indiana. Again, she went without her kidney medication for many days. Again, her legs swelled up from the transport in shackles, and she is in another large room shared with many detainees. She is currently awaiting an immigration hearing in Indiana.

Our mother is a charismatic, entrepreneuring grandma who we enjoy visiting with as much as we can. She has been an active member of her community and a joy to those who meet her and work with her. We are fighting in every way we can to stop her deportation and get her out of the detention facility.

We need your support to raise funds for legal support, visitation, and communication fees as we work to keep our mother in good spirits and fight her deportation.
