This is Lemnos shelter. It is located in a small island, and within a remote part of the mountains within that island. No one drives by here, no one visits, no one ever. EVER. Other than a couple of dedicated volunteers who donate their time and resources, with minimal help from the municipality, these dogs spend 23.5 hours of their day, everyday, all alone in their tiny, rusty cages on concrete floors. This is no life for a dog, any animal infact! This is basically where the dogs come to die, and their only chance to break free and have a chance of a happy life is to find a home overseas. 

We work with several shelters, however this was the first year we visited this shelter, and to say we were devastated would be a gross understatement. Any shelter setting is no place for an animal to live and grow up, but to spend almost their entire day in a tiny rusty cage with no blankets, food or water and have a small gravel pathway to roam when they do get a chance to get out - which they ONLY do when the kind volunteers goto visit and spend time with the dogs- is heartbreaking. We need to help them. We have to help them! We are trying to find a way to work with the local municipality to help change the living conditions in the shelter, but this is an uphill climb. Many of these dogs may not have that kind of time. There are senior dogs just aging in the shelter and we promised them some wonderful golden years in a home surrounded by a family who loves them! We see high energy young adults that are so stressed being confined and unable to burn their energy, as well as away from human touch that they all so badly crave ...

We have a chance to help a few dogs from this shelter now. The time to act is NOW! Merlin and Sania have made their way here but we are trying to fundraise to sponsor one more flight to help three more dogs find their way to freedom

The cost of the flight and the pet airfare is $2,408 and will help save three precious lives!
