Help Free Rebecca!
Hello all
The Chief executive @africatechie, Rebecca Enonchong has been arrested in Douala, Cameroon.
All we know is there's a complaint by the local Attorney General. No due process, no warrant. She was called to station and then jailed over night!
we are raising funds to cover her legal costs . Here is a small summary of her accomplishments

She is Board Chair of Afrilabs, a Pan-African network of over 268 innovation centers in 49 African countries supporting over 1 million entrepreneurs in Africa. She chairs ActivSpaces (African Center for Technology Innovation and Ventures) supporting entrepreneurs from three tech hubs in Cameroon. She also sits on the boards of Venture Capital for Africa (VC4Africa), Digital Africa, WHO Foundation, Eneza Education, Suguba, Djibouti Telecom, US Exim SAAC, and the UNECA Center for Digital Excellence.
She is cofounder of Cameroon Angels Network and cofounder and Vice-President of African Business Angels Network. Ms. Enonchong currently serves as a mentor/advisor to several technology startups.
A recipient of numerous awards, Ms. Enonchong was named a Global Leader for Tomorrow (GLT) by the World Economic Forum of Davos, Switzerland. Forbes Africa listed her as one of Africa's 50 most powerful women in 2020. NewAfrican magazine named her one of the most influential Africans in 2014, 2016, 2017 and 2020. Jeune Afrique magazine listed her as one of Africa's 50 most influential women of 2017 and as one of world’s most influential Africans in 2018, 2019 and 2020.
Our plan now as Rebecca has been freed and all charges dropped is to move these funds to the Activespaces legal defence fund-active spaces is a non-profit based in Cameroon that works directly with local entrepreneur and has identified the shrinking civil space in teh country as a primary barrier to success across the entrepreneur ecosystem. The organisation will put these funds to help others in exactly the same situation as Rebecca was getting them the legal help that they need when they need it.
