Help free an expecting father from ICE Detention!

The Alliance to Mobilize Our Resistance (AMOR) is fundraising for S.J., a longtime permanent resident, breadwinner, and expecting father who was recently detained by ICE and is being held at the Wyatt Detention Facility. We are raising $2,500 for S.J., to cover the cost of legal representation, so that he can request the court allow him to fight his case free from detention, while continuing to work and support his growing family.

ICE recently apprehended and detained S.J. a legal permanent resident who came to the US at the age of 4 seeking refuge from civil war in Liberia after the death of his father and separation from his mother. S.J. has been living in the United States since he gained refugee status when he was only 4 years old and came to the United States alongside his Uncle with the help of his now deceased grandfather.

S.J. says “I currently have a child that is due to be born in June and I am the sole breadwinner of my family. I would like to have representation when I have my 90 day review to see if I can be released under supervision so I can help my family.”

He is currently being detained at the Wyatt Detention Facility and needs community support to access funds for legal representation so that he can argue his case from home.

S.J. is expecting the birth of his first child within the next few weeks. He is the breadwinner of his family and was gainfully employed prior to being apprehended by ICE and placed in the Wyatt.

The amount raised would go towards legal representation so that S.J. can fight his case from home while continuing to care for his family.

La Alianza para Movilizar Nuestra Resistencia (AMOR, por sus siglas en inglés) está recaudando fondos para S.J., un residente permanente desde hace mucho tiempo, proveedor familiar y padre expectante que recientemente fue detenido por el ICE y está preso en el Centro de Detención Wyatt. Estamos recaudando $2,500 para S.J., para cubrir el costo de representación legal, para que pueda aplicar para que la corte le permita pelear su caso libre de detención, mientras continúa trabajando y manteniendo a su creciente familia.

ICE aprehendió y detuvo recientemente a S.J., residente legal permanente que llegó a Estados Unidos cuando tenía 4 años buscando refugio de la guerra civil en Liberia tras la muerte de su padre y la separación de su madre. S.J. ha vivido en Estados Unidos desde que obtuvo estatus de refugiado cuando sólo tenía 4 años y llegó a Estados Unidos junto a su tío con la ayuda de su abuelo, ya fallecido.

S.J. dice: « Tengo un hijo que nacerá en junio y soy el único que mantiene a mi familia. Me gustaría tener representación cuando tenga mi revisión de 90 días para ver si puedo ser puesto en libertad bajo supervisión y así poder ayudar a mi familia.»

Actualmente está detenido en el centro de detención de Wyatt y necesita el apoyo de la comunidad para acceder a fondos para obtener representación legal y poder defender su caso desde casa.

S.J. espera el nacimiento de su primer hijo en las próximas semanas. Es el cabeza de familia y mantenía un empleo estable antes de ser detenido por el ICE e internado en el Wyatt.

La cantidad recaudada se destinaría a la representación legal para que S.J. pueda luchar contra su caso desde casa mientras sigue cuidando de su familia.
