Alejandra Salazar has called the United States home since 2001, when she was 8 years old, and has lived here with a legal immigration status. She is a devoted mother to two young children, ages 10 and 7, and a dedicated educator in Miami, FL.
On January 29, Alejandra was detained by ICE and is currently being held in a facility in Broward County, FL. Her sudden detention has left her family and community devastated, and her children are missing their mother’s daily care and presence.
The legal process to secure Alejandra’s release is complicated and costly. The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward immigration legal fees and critical legal proceedings. In addition, donations will help support her children with essential living expenses - such as housing, transportation, food, and basic necessities - while Alejandra is unable to work.
The next critical step in brining Alejandra home is to pursue a bond request in immigration court. A qualified lawyer has been identified and is being enabled to pursuit the case.
Every contribution, no matter the size, will help bring stability to her children during this incredibly difficult time and support legal efforts to reunite this family. The outpouring of support has meant more than words can express.
We are deeply grateful for any help you are able to give and for sharing this campaign. Your kindness and generosity make a real difference.
Thank you from Ms. Pilar, James, Gabriel and Ally's family.
