My name is Kimberly, and I am a teacher in Buffalo, NY. The father of three of our amazing students has been in ICE detention for about 6 weeks now. He was detained using an outdated warrant less than 24 hours after appearing in immigration court. While at court the day before he was detained, he received paperwork that was to assure that he was in compliance with USCIS. This father now has two weeks to raise his bond or face deportation proceedings. In his home country, he and his family's life was brutally threatened as he refused to comply with government wishes to make unethical decisions as a physician. We are desperately seeking to raise this bond so the father can be released, go back to supporting his financially struggling family, and continue to fight for the safety of his family. When the bond is eventually returned, it will be used for further legal fees for the family and/or placed in a trust for his children's futures.
