Hi everyone, my name is Louise, and I'm reaching out with a special request for a very special visitor to our garden: Freddie! He's the cutest little guy
Freddie's Story
Freddie first appeared in our garden at different times of day. We already have an indoor/garden cat of our own and surprisingly, they've been getting along just fine, even turning their backs and showing their tummies to each other, which shows us there is no aggression between them
From day one, Freddie has been incredibly sweet. He absolutely loves chin scratches and even a tummy rub, I haven't seen a single claw from him so far
Initially, I was hesitant to feed him in case he had an owner/specific diet. But after seeing him repeatedly, at all times of day and through the night, noticing his white bits were a bit grubby, his coat was dusty, and he was so hungry yet still very slim, I started to suspect he might not have a home. Plus, he's a very definite boy, if you catch my drift, which definitely suggested he might be unowned.
I decided to see if I could take him to a vet to check for a microchip (the law says cats should be chipped by 5 months old). I managed to get him into our carrier. The poor little fella didn't enjoy the car ride and had a couple of accidents in the bag, but once in the vet's room, he was his usual lovely self, even lying down on the table! The vet confirmed he's not chipped and estimated him to be around 10 months old. She also gave him a quick check-over to make sure nothing seemed wrong, which was so kind of her.
How You Can Help Freddie Thrive
So, in short, we have a very hungry little Freddie who is also very happy coming and going. We've been in touch with some rescues, but unfortunately, they can't help us keep him safer here.
We've already started putting food out for him and have provided a little shelter in case he wants it, all at our own expense. However, we want to ensure he's healthy and doesn't contribute to more homeless cats down the line. That's why I've been in touch with our vets to find out about getting him neutered, vaccinated, and treated for fleas and worms. This will ensure he's safe and healthy going forward.
Our Goal is £240
If we can raise £240, this would cover the cost of his neutering, essential vaccinations to prevent illness, and 3 months of flea/worm treatments.
If you are able to help us help Freddie with even a small donation, every penny counts, and we are so incredibly grateful.
I chose the GoFundMe platform for this because, with him being a little nomad, I can't guarantee being able to catch him to take him to the vet at any given moment. In the event that the funds aren't used or are no longer needed, GoFundMe refunds everyone who has donated.
Thank you for considering helping Freddie! Let's give this sweet, deserving cat the healthy and happy future he deserves.
Edited from the original info as we have found out we won't be able to have a pet plan as we don't own him
