Help Freddie kick FIP to the curb

ABOUT FREDDIE MERCURY

Freddie Mercury is a friendly colony cat from Los Angeles. When his caretakers noticed a rapid decline in his health, they hospitalized him. Several foxtails were removed from his abscessed gums and a related eye infection was addressed with the hope of releasing him back to his colony. When Freddie came to us for rehabilitation, his body condition was so poor and his health so fragile that we knew something more serious was afoot. Further diagnostics revealed that our suspicions were correct: Freddie has Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP).

FIP is fatal if left untreated. Until recently, it was a death sentence. But a new, non-FDA approved drug available through a network of FIP warriors shows great promise. We have seen it in action and believe it will save Freddie's life.

Freddie shows us every day that he wants to live. He is a hot mess — emaciated, lethargic, depressed, anemic — but he is sweet and loving and a good candidate for FIP treatment. So, we made the leap and started the long, expensive treatment plan: 84 days of medication at roughly $3,500.

Funds will be used to pay for Freddie's 84-day course of medication. We've already purchased the first two weeks at $601.20 and will continue in two-week increments for the duration. The only other option for FIP is euthanasia, and Freddie isn't about to give up. We need your help to fund this.

We are already seeing improvement in Freddie after just five days on the meds, and we believe he can beat FIP with your support. When he came to us, he was barely able to move or eat. Now, he's sitting up, eating, grooming and starting to look like a cat again.

Our ultimate goal is to get Freddie well so he can start a new life. He deserves a forever home that is full of love and free from fear and deprivation, and we are committed to getting him there.
