Help Fred & Rae Light Rebuild After Devastating Housefire

On Monday, June 9, 2025 our parents, Fred & Rae Light of Bucktooth, NY tragically lost their home and belongings in a housefire.

For 40 years it was the heart of our family, a gathering place, a safe haven for those who sought refuge, where we were raised with love and kindness, to becoming a special place of joy and comfort for our own children. A lifetime of possessions from quilts lovingly stitched over many generations, irreplaceable family heirlooms, scrapbooks and photos documenting milestones and memories- all in an instant have been tragically reduced to ashes.

Starting over is always hard, but starting from scratch later in life is especially daunting. After decades of stability, the shock of this loss is extremely stressful and overwhelming. Our parents have always been the kind of people who give without hesitation, stepping up for those in need be it plowing a driveway, donating their time and talents with quilts or cakes for boosters, weddings, and birthdays, offering kindness with a hug, being dependable pillars in our family and in the community. Now, they need that same generosity returned.

Today, we humbly ask for your support in helping our parents, Fred and Rae while they navigate through this unexpected chapter in their lives.
