Help Fred Jones Heal After Severe Motorcycle Accident
Donation protected
Many of you have heard of the Jones family. They have been serving the community as workers and leaders for as long as I can remember. They have dedicated their lives to their community striving to make our home a better place.
Their son Fred was involved in a motorcycle accident on Route US-1 on July 31st. It was covered in the Sebastian Daily.
He very recently lost healthcare coverage. Creating an even larger necessity for your help. As he will be responsible for all healthcare charges.
He suffered from an array of severe injuries, many by themselves would have been life threatening.
Here’s a condensed list so you can grasp the amount of damage sustained, the amount of recovery still neccesary, and the miracle that he is still with us.
- Broken Neck at the C2 and C3 vertabrae
- Broken femur
- Spinal Contusions
- Broken Secrum
- Collapsed Lung
- Broken Collar bone
- Left Arm multiple fractures
The result of these injuries were an array of emergency surgeries. 6 surgeries in total. His pelvis being worked back into place with weights among other procedures. And being in the Intensive Care Unit for 19 days now and growing as he is still here.
He still suffers from extreme weakness from the neck down. At the moment he has made improvement since the accident, from near total paralyses from the neck down, now being able to use his right hand and right foot to a limited capacity.
The road to recovery could take up to two years, and has already incurred many expenses along with future ones to come. I ask for you to show your support as a community and come together in this time around the Jones family.
Freds positive attitude on recovery has inspired me to make this go fund me and possibly spark a positivity in our country by coming together and display of empathy and community in the Jones time of need.
I want to tell you a little about Fred. Fred isby no means an angel. But I do Know he is a good man searching for the right path in life that can be so hard to find sometimes, just like all of us. Even now he’s speaking to me of becoming a patient advocate in the future to ensure people in his position are taken care. If that’s not a good man I don’t know what is.
He is currently at Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne.
