Help Fred buy “The Rig” by NotAWheelchair

Hey y’all.

My name is Fred Graves. I have limb girdle Muscular Dystrophy 2A/R1 (LGMD). I’ve used a wheelchair now for over 20 years and have more of less accepted a less than active lifestyle. Well last week my 4 year old told me he wants a new dad because I’m boring ….. What?! I’ve been thinking about this bike for sometime now but that conversation pushed me over the edge. I’m going for it. So here I am.

I’m raising money for an electric mountain bike wheelchair called “The Rig” by nota wheelchair . Typically I’d never ask for this type of help in such a public way but this bike is so expensive and insurance would never pay for something like this.

This bike chair would not only allow me to go on bike rides with my son. It would also give me access to places I haven’t been in years. Such as a hiking trail, a sandy beach, the middle of a park, etc.

I very much had all intention on saving up for this chair but the way life is set up there’s never enough money for quality of life things like this. Especially with a $5,900 ticket. I’ve showed several ppl videos of  “The Rig” while commenting how “I can’t afford it right now”. They’d all suggest GofundMe…so after weeks and weeks of talking about it I’m taking a chance.

I’d be getting the 2 motor version with knobby tires from https://notawheelchair.com and having it shipped to my home.
