During the leadup to the housing crisis, my mortgage lender—GreenPoint Mortgage, owned by Capital One—began refusing my payments, forced me into default, and then illegally foreclosed on my home. The emotional, financial, and mental toll of this assault was absolutely devastating to my life.
But I never gave up trying to save my home.
After years of surviving the trauma while relentlessly digging for the facts, I finally uncovered the truth: they committed felony fraud. With the help of a professional financial fraud investigator, I obtained hard evidence that proves it.
Now, I’m fighting back.
What I Need
I’m raising funds to retain an attorney, refile my federal lawsuit against Greenpoint/Capital One, and cover the legal costs of taking my case to court to fight a financial giant with unlimited resources. I already filed once in 2019, but when COVID shut down the courts I was forced to dismiss—with the option to refile, which I still legally have.
But, due to the financial chaos this crime forced on my life, I’ve been surviving on fumes for years and can no longer afford the cost of this fight. That’s what criminal corporations do; they try to break you financially so you can’t fight them. Corporate fraud defense 101. What they did to me is absolutely sadistic, and my life has been in crisis mode ever since.

Since the beginning of this ordeal I’ve filed complaints with over a dozen consumer protection and regulatory agencies. Nearly every single one said I had a strong case—but none were willing to stand up to a big bank. Not even the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau or the Consumer Protection Division of the Michigan Attorney General, whose very reason for existence is to protect citizens like me from financial predators.
I even tried reaching out to Capital One directly, many times, but was always ignored.
Why This Matters
This isn’t just about me. Millions of Americans were defrauded during the foreclosure crisis. But very few had the ability and resources to do battle with the big banks. I’ve spent over a decade trying to hold this financial monster accountable—not just for myself, but for others who’ve been crushed in silence. If I’m successful I want to create a template for victims of foreclosure fraud to fight back.
Mine is a David vs. Goliath story—but I can’t do it alone.
