Franz Battle loves helping others; we know this because she studied psychology & mental health at Louisiana State University and Southern University A & M (Baton Rouge). She is a licensed mental health counselor, and has provided therapy in the community for many years. At this time, she is in need of support from others as she has encountered another setback in her chronic medical health journey.
Franz was diagnosed with Stage 4 invasive ductal carcinoma, triple positive breast cancer in early 2013. Since that time, she has gone through aggressive chemotherapy and immunotherapy. Once someone has a Stage 4 diagnosis, they will always be considered a Stage 4 patient even if tests and scans show that there is no longer active cancer. For this reason, Stage 4 survivors will always be in some type of treatment to assist in preventing active cancer from returning.
In December 2020, cancer metastasized to her brain; she then underwent brain surgery and radiation. As a result of the brain tumor, she has recently been diagnosed with Temporal Lobe Seizures.
In September 2024, a new malignant mass was discovered in the original location from the initial diagnosis in 2013. On September 13, 2024, Franz began a new battle of aggressive chemotherapy. According to her oncologist, the mass is shrinking after just a few weeks. The tentative treatment plan is 6 to 8 months of aggressive chemotherapy, followed by surgery and radiation
Although Franz loves her career and counseling others, at this time she is unable to work full-time helping others when healing is her number one priority. She can't successfully help others and successfully beat this illness at the same time.
