Help Franklin Fight Cancer

Donation protected

On May 27th, 2021 we brought Franklin in for a routine appointment to check his heart murmur. Anticipating the call from the doctor to be good, we hung up the phone that day with our worlds being turned upside down.

We were told our boy has a rapidly growing heart based tumor. We had to sit through the conversations on what to expect if this were one tumor versus the other. We genuinely thoughtwe were looking at our last months with our boy. That’s when we got the final diagnosis of a Chemodectoma of the heart. This heart based tumor is in fact a slowly growing tumor that is otherwise causing no health effects for Franklin at this time, he is in great spirits. Which is why we felt confident enough to move forward and discuss treatment.

I want to preface this with the fact that I love my dog and I know how painful radiation can be. So I made sure to get all the facts about dogs and radiation. And believe it or not, they said he may have close to no side effects. Radiationin animals is not like that in humans. So I know that we are doing what is best for Franklin health wise and quality of health wise. On top of that, the prognosis is very very strong and we are looking at years left with our boy if we get this treatment done.

Franklin is looking at only 3 treatments and they are totally noninvasive. They will happen 3 consecutive days in a row and they will last about 45 minutes. He will have no knowledge of the treatment and no expected side effects besides shrinkage of the tumor.

Our insurance plans to cover some of his treatment but we are left with a large bill on top of that. We have tried every other route there is to take, care credit, personal loans, etc. we are discouraged and desperate to help save Franklin.

Here’s a little bit of background information. Franklin was found in abandoned apartment complex a little over 8 years ago. I offered to foster him because at the time I was still in college and thought “oh you can’t handle a dog”. Well, this boy jumped out of the car (his named was Blackie at the time) and I immediately knew we were soulmates. Franklin has been by my side ever since. Most could say he’s an emotional support dog for me. And I could tell you they are 100% right. Franklin has been there through the ups and the downs ready to go through itall with me.

Now it’s my time to give him back what he’s always given me — life.

If you find that you would like to help us with Franklin’s treatment, I’d like to offer my design services in return. You can reach out to me directly letting me know you contributed and I would be more than happy to provide the services in return. It would be my honor. Please contact me on my Instagram: @designs_bygenevieve or my email [email redacted].

I will also be more than willing to keep everyone updated with the process so you can see where your contributions are going.

If you are somebody that has helped us during this time, please know I am forever grateful and we will find a way to show all of our appreciation.
