Help Frankie Rebuild After Tree Damage
Donation protected

Hi... first, let me say that this fundraising effort is no longer in the emergency stage, but that category still seemed the best fit. This picture is from March of 2024. This is my son's car and home in Portland, OR. This was the second time a tree had fallen on his home in short order. His car was totaled and his home deemed unlivable. He was moved to temporary housing, but that money quickly ran out. So he packed up his car and his dog and drove to Florida to stay with his family from August through February 2025. Those of you who have had to deal with insurance know what a nightmare it can be. The process has been fraught with delays and finger-pointing. It's always someone else's fault. He was able to finally move back into his home at the end of April, but it is still barely livable. He has been relying on friends and the Flyin' J for showering. He has no appliances or floors, only bedroom furniture. To add insult to injury, they keep finding things that they say need fixing before they can proceed, but these things will have to come out of Frankie's pocket before they will continue the work. Of course, he had to pay his mortgage the whole time as well. All these extra expenses keep adding up and it would mean the world to him to receive a little help. He would never ask this for himself. I have wanted to create this fundraiser for him, but he denied my requests every time, until this latest blunder. He finally said that he would accept the help and I am confident that this community will come through.
The funds raised will go towards his out of pocket expenses, which include: flooring/prep, bathroom fixtures, kitchen appliances, thermostat.
Demolition revealed asbestos, so most everything in the affected areas had to be remediated or destroyed.
As of this writing, the floors are still not done. He only has one sink and one toilet and these are not in the same bathroom. He has no electricity, so no hot water or lights and uses a lantern for light.
