Frankie’s Journey: A Second Chance and a Healing Heart

Meet Frankie, a 1½-year-old Great Pyrenees with the biggest heart and the gentlest soul. Frankie’s story began when he was found wandering from home to home, searching for safety and love. Thanks to the amazing team at Rescue Angels of Southern Maryland, Frankie was rescued and that’s where his journey with me began.

From the moment I met him, I knew he was special. Despite being deaf, Frankie has proven himself to be incredibly intelligent, intuitive, and loving. He greets everyone with tail wags, soulful eyes, and endless affection. It’s as if he knows he’s been given a second chance and he never stops showing gratitude for it.

Recently, though, Frankie’s bright spirit has been tested. He began urinating frank blood, and after several vet visits and tests, we discovered he needed a specialized procedure called Sclerotherapy to address the issue. Frankie bravely underwent surgery, where a stent was placed in his left ureteral to help him heal.

Now, Frankie is in recovery for the next month, and once he’s strong enough, he’ll need another procedure to remove the stent. The medical costs from diagnostics to surgery and ongoing care, have been significant, but I’m determined to do everything I can to ensure Frankie gets the healthy, happy life he deserves.

Frankie has already overcome so much, from surviving as a stray to learning how to navigate the world in silence and he’s never lost his loving spirit. Any contribution, big or small, will go directly toward his medical care and recovery.
