Hi, we're Isabel and Amanda - Frankie's parents. We adopted Frankie a little over two years ago. We rescued her from a shelter where she had six pups. She and her puppies got so sick from pneumonia that they had to pull them from each other, resulting in 5/6 of the puppies not making it. Frankie has endured abuse, which we noticed the first time we met her through her anxiety and distrust of new people. Despite the stigma against traumatized dogs, we gave her a chance and couldn't be more happy with our decision. She has come a long way and has had a safe space to be the fun-loving cuddly self we knew was in her from the moment we met. Oh, and a sassy little Frankie 98.9% of the time, giving the funniest side eye, smiling whe she gets rubbed, our passing the occasion gas and looking at you to make it seem like youre the culprit..keeping us on our toes.
A few weeks ago, we found a lump on her head, and immediately after further testing, they diagnosed her with a cancerous tumor. We both work full-time, but as many of you know, veterinarian bills can be very costly. Insurance companies have denied us because of cancer, so we have much to pay out of pocket. She has a CT scan close to 3k and surgery to remove cancer at 10k. There is even the possibility of having to do chemotherapy if we need to ensure the cancer does not return.
It is difficult to ask for money, but we are slowly running out of options to ensure she has a fighting chance at life. We really appreciate you all and want to thank you for your support. Anything helps, even if you can't donate if you share this link, that would be helpful.
