Hi, I'm Frankie. I'm an artist from the suburbs of Chicago, and last year I started at Berklee College of Music in Boston. That school has been my dream for as long as I can remember. In being there for a year, I accomplished a lot. But I may not be able to continue on my journey. Tuition went up, and the majority of my scholarships were only for 1 year. Let me share with you my journey so far. Even if you can't donate, supporting and following my artistry helps too.
I have released my Debut single as Franki! Recorded in the Berklee studios and then performed on one of the Berklee stages, Promised went out in February and has 1000+ streams on platforms. I then released my second single, Show Me What You're Made Of. I've included links to listen to both in the email for your listening pleasure. I've performed as Franki multiple times at the school now and closed out the year with a Berklee Artist Showcase. I now work with two producers, and we are writing my album virtually this summer, planning to record once we are back at school and release it in the spring.
My band, Object Of Desire, has been making strides as well. We are releasing our first single as a group on June 26th. I've included a pre-save link if you're interested. We played our first show at a bar in downtown Boston and played shows on the Berklee stages as well. We are in the process of writing our album and recording it in a studio this coming winter. The thing I'm most excited about is our Caf Show performance, which we have auditioned for and got accepted for. It's one of Berklee's most well-attended performance venues.
I've been working on my music business abilities as well. I'm a manager for an artist named J. Wilson. He is a Pop/R&B artist from New York. I included some listening links to him as well. He and I are working to book him for live shows, appearances, and promote his EP, which will be released at the end of the summer. I'm excited to say that J. Wilson and I have gotten him a Caf Show as well, which will be taking place in October.
At Berklee, in general, I'm on the board for the Berklee 100 club. This club presents and provides opportunities to students in the form of artist Q&A sessions, meetings with A&Rs (record label professionals), and other resources. We on the board cold email professionals in music we think align with the club, and its members, to set up all of these events. Additionally, I performed in a few shows with the school, most notably David Bowie's Meaning in Music Show, which took place in the Berklee Performance Center, Berklee's largest venue. I'm taking courses in Music business and songwriting. The course I'm most excited for is The Letter F, Females in Music. Where we will study Women in the industry and their writing.
I want to be able to continue on this journey and rest assured that I am trying everything I can aside from this Hail Mary. But, anything helps, even if it's just a follow and a dm saying you enjoy what I do. Thanks for caring to read.
