Like anyone else, I never thought I'd be in this position. For the last year I haven't felt well. Over time I began losing weight, becoming nauseous, and experiencing increasing pain in my back. In mid July I got so sick at work that I left and went to urgent care. Tests showed a high level of white cells, very large kidney stones, and a mass on my bladder. They went through my back directly into the kidney to remove the stones and at the same time scoped and performed a biopsy on my bladder. Two weeks later I was in surgery again to remove the bladder tumors. At that time I was informed that it was in fact stage 1 cancer. I was given chemo immediately after surgery. A few weeks later I was once again in surgery because there were missed bits and a small part of muscle needed to be removed.
I tried to return to work a week after the last surgery but quickly got sick and had some bleeding. I was trying to do to much but disability was running out and I had burned through what savings I had covering deductibles and keeping up with regular bills. After another week off and unpaid I went back to work. Once again the same issues forced me to call out.
I do have insurance but even with that and what I've managed to pay in cash I still have non covered service bills coming in on top of the amounts I still owe.
Thank you for your time reading this and thank you for any help you can give.
