After my amputation, life has taken a turn I never expected. My insurance has reached its limit, and now I’m facing mounting bills that are more than I can manage. The cost of a prosthetic leg is more than I can afford, and I’m struggling just to keep up with basic needs. I’ve worked hard all my life and built a home in Tucson, but right now, I’m just trying to survive and avoid losing everything I’ve worked for. The thought of ending up on the streets is my biggest fear, and it’s a reality I’m fighting every day.
Getting a prosthetic leg would mean so much to me—it would give me back some independence and freedom, and hopefully allow me to find a part-time job so I can start paying down my bills. I’m a positive person and my faith keeps me going, but the stress has been overwhelming. I know there are positive, caring people in Tucson and beyond who might be able to help me get through this tough time.
Five years ago, I lost my son and spent seven years working with the Muscular Dystrophy Association, trying to help others and find a cure for neurological diseases. I never thought I’d be the one needing help, but now I’m reaching out to my community. If you can help or share my story, I would be deeply grateful. I know there are good people out there, and I believe God will bless you for your kindness. Thank you for helping me fight for my independence and a better future.
