This is Frank, an 8-week-old kitten who has to have his front leg amputated after being thrown from a vehicle at 6 weeks old.

Due to Sidney and her daughter's love for Frank, they are doing the surgery despite the immense stress this puts on her finances as a single mother.

We are asking for help funding his surgery and recovery in a loving home.

On July 13th, coming back from a weekend at Bear Lake, my husband slammed on the brakes to avoid hitting a tiny kitten curled up in the road. When Spencer got out of the car to grab it before someone else hit him, the kitten ran away in a very alarming way. It was apparent he was injured.

Being a small town, no vets were available, so we drove him almost 2 hours to MedVet in Ogden.

We were told they could take him if he was injured, but if he was fine, we had to find our own arrangements for this kitten.

After a brief 5-minute evaluation, they deemed he was fit to leave. I insisted the vet take a second look since he was walking in such a concerning way. They insisted he wasn't in any pain and had no broken bones and rushed us out.

My sister, Sidney, took him in without question, immediately finding a very large tick under his front arm.

After a week, he was still limping. Her vet did X-rays and found his shoulder to be shattered, the bone in several pieces under his skin. His entire arm needed to be amputated. Due to the urgency, he was scheduled for surgery the next day (today, July 22nd). She was given two choices: amputate the leg for $4,000 or give him up to the shelter, and they'd hopefully do the surgery and he'd heal in the scary environment of an animal shelter.

Sidney and her daughter Evvie love him and have formed an intense bond with Frank. Despite the immense cost, they have chosen to go forward with surgery.
