In early 2019, after a routine colonoscopy, we learned Frank had a large tumor in his colon. He was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer. He underwent surgery that removed a large portion of his colon and after finding cancer in 3 lymph nodes, he underwent 3 months of chemotherapy. 

During that process, our savings were depleted and we fell 2 months behind in our house payments. Since then we caught up, and my business that I started with 2 partners took off until the pandemic has suppressed the business indefinitely. We had also started building our savings again after Frank returned to work almost a year ago.

Frank’s cancer has returned in his liver and he is now stage 4. He had a port installed and begins a stronger chemo Monday. Our savings is already depleted with out of pocket expenses for the tests that diagnosed the stage 4 (colonoscopy, ct scan, pet scan and surgical biopsy) and he has been taken off work and put on disability. Our insurance costs over $1,000 a month and treatment will span into 2021. My business is not making money because of the pandemic, so we will rent my house in New Orleans to pay the house payment. I am moving to California, and will stay with Frank at his mother’s house to care for him. His mother just lost a shared property with her sister (also her sister’s residence) and all family heirlooms in the CZU fire in Boulder Creek, so she is unable to help. 


We are trying to raise $15,000 to pay for insurance and out of pocket expenses we expect during his treatment. With this help, Frank will be able to focus on his health and won’t have the additional worry about finances.
