Help Frank Connell Secure Safe Housing

Hi friends and neighbors! Frank Connell, a long-term fixture and character of the Irish Channel, really needs our help.

In the fall of 2023, Frank found himself extremely depressed living in a mold-ridden, roach-infested apartment in the Irish Channel. Of course, he lived in the Channel for decades. Frank was hospitalized a few times and quickly realized that returning to that apartment would kill him. By some miracle, he learned of a small, affordable, fully handicap-accessible apartment in the Bywater.

Unfortunately, the landlords have raised his rent. He knew this blow was coming soon, so he spent 6 months trying to find a new place. He applied for housing allowance, looked for assisted housing, visited with a disability advocacy group, and even tried to get into an assisted living facility.

Due to his disability, he subsists on an extremely low stipend every month.

I did the calculations and determined that he will need $6600 to keep his housing stable for the next 12 months.

In spite of the fact that he will have nowhere to live on March 1, he did not want me to create this GoFundMe because he hates asking people for help.
