My name is Pawel, and I am Franek's father.

Franek is a pretty unique little boy. He was born with a rare genetic issue - unbalanced chromosome translocation 9 and 11. He has got a global developmental delay - he doesn’t sit on his own, not even turn himself from back to tummy; he doesn’t speak and he is completely dependent on others.

Franek is 2 and a half years old. Due to his health issues he is under constant health care with many different specialists doctors involved - neurologist, endocrinologist, orthopaedist, ENT, speech therapist, cardiologist and physiotherapists. His hypotonia (low muscle tone) does not allow him to function normally.

He needs constant and very intensive physiotherapy. One week of a professional physio camp costs around 3000PLN/550GBP. He attends 2 per month.

Franek urodził się z rzadką wadą genetyczną- niezbalansowaną translokacją chromosomów 9 i 11. Ma on znaczne opóźnienie w rozwoju psychomotorycznym – nie siedzi, nawet jeszcze nie przewraca się samodzielnie na brzuszek; nie mówi i jest całkowicie zależny od innych.

Franek ma 2,5 roku i ze względu na swoje problemy zdrowotne jest pod stałą opieką wielu specjalistów, w tym neurologa, endokrynologa, ortopedy, laryngologa, logopedy, kardiologa oraz fizjoterapeuty. Codziennie zmaga się z hipotonią (bardzo niskim napięciem mięśniowym), które nie pozwala mu normalnie funkcjonować.

Potrzebna jest mu codzienna, intensywna rehabilitacja, która pomoże mu osiągać kolejne kamienie milowe w jego rozwoju.
