Francois Demarcus Perry is our playful, loving, and energetic puppy. He’s only 4 months old right now, and every day with him is filled with joy and laughter. On July 16th, he’ll turn 5 months, but at the moment, he’s facing a challenge that no puppy should have to endure. On July 4th, while we were at a family member’s party, Francois suffered a Tibial Tuberosity Avulsion Fracture. This type of injury means the bone at the front of his lower leg was pulled away from where it should be, causing intense pain and making it impossible for him to walk. The fracture also damaged his growth plate, which is crucial for healthy bone development as he grows. It was the first time we didn’t have our eyes on him, and in that brief moment, something happened that left him in terrible pain. He screamed and backed himself into a corner, crying until his mom and I could reach him. Since then, he hasn’t been able to walk, and it’s been heartbreaking to see his spirit dim.

The surgery he needs is essential for his leg to heal properly and prevent further complications. If we neglect the surgery, his leg won’t grow properly, leading to more issues and affecting other limbs as he tries to compensate. We want nothing more than for Francois to have a good quality of life, running and playing like he always has. It’s stressful and overwhelming, but we’re determined to do everything we can for him.

I know it’s a big ask with how the world currently is, but even the smallest donation toward our little man’s surgery would mean the world to us and him. I’m not the type to reach out for help like this, but when you love someone so much, pride takes a back seat to their well-being.
