Dear friends, family, and compassionate strangers,

My name is Daniela Pino del Pino, and today I’m reaching out not for myself, but for one of the people I love most in this world — my dear friend Francisca Ávila Domínguez.

Francisca was recently diagnosed with a Paraganglioma of the right carotid body, a rare tumor located dangerously close to the vital arteries on the right side of her face. Though technically benign, the tumor’s location and rapid growth make it incredibly dangerous. It’s now starting to press against her cranium, and without immediate surgery, her life is at serious risk.

This is not a decision anyone should ever have to make — between the surgery that could save your life or leaving it untreated because you simply can’t afford it.

The surgery is complex and extremely high-risk due to the proximity of the tumor to the carotid and jugular and some cranial structures. Even with the best surgeons, there is a chance that Francisca may not survive the surgery. But doing nothing is not an option either — the tumor is growing fast, and every day we wait, the risk increases.

Francisca lives in Chile, in a town called Viña del Mar. Fran is one of the kindest, most genuine people I know, especially because of her humor-she is honestly hilarious! The love of her life is Mono, a dog we rescued together from the streets in Santiago, Chile. They are such a cute team-Mono goes anywhere she goes! She’s always been the one offering help, comfort, and love to those around her. Now it’s our turn to support her in the fight of her life.

We’re trying to raise [$20,000] to help cover the costs of surgery, hospitalization, post-operative care, and travel to a medical facility equipped to handle such a delicate case.
