Hey, Francis here. So I’m slowly losing my eyesight. Let me explain. About a year ago I was diagnosed with keratoconus. It’s an eye disease where your cornea thins and bulges. This causes blurred, distorted, and astigmatic vision. This can lead to severe vision impairment and possibly legal blindness if left untreated. I’m starting to experience light, blurred, and distorted vision. This damage is irreversible. I need to do something about it before it gets worse. Cross-linking is a procedure that can slow or completely stop the progression of this disease. I scheduled this surgery for January 12th. I chose the epi-on cross-linking option. The lowest quote I’ve gotten per eye is $4,000. Go figure, this is a procedure insurance will not cover. Recovery will take likely one to two weeks. I’m seeking $8,000 to cover both eyes and an additional $500 to allow me to take unpaid time off work. Please help me keep my current eyesight and consider donating and/or sharing.
