Hello friends and family! For those who don’t know me, my name is Francine Rizzo. Due to a series of unfortunate events i am at risk of being evicted from my apartment, and forced into homelessness. My daughter and I both have experienced financial hardships leaving us struggling to pay our rent. I am retired and over 70 and my daughter is on social security disability. So for the past few years it has been tight, but we have been blessed enough to get by! Unfortunately it is not easy, because we both have very small, set incomes every month that require careful budgeting in order to afford today’s high living costs. Sadly we both have been hit with financial hardships between personal debt and the government shutdown it has been a struggle for a few months now. We share a two bedroom apartment in Jacksonville, Florida in the East Arlington area. Last month we were almost two weeks late with our rent. We battled with United way and all other charities including the VA and still unable to find help! Fortunately we figured out on our own which only set us back again this month. My husband godreat his soul, was an army veteran who became an amputee due to friendly fire in the Vietnam war. Also so to his service to our country he struggled with severe PTSD, diabetes from agent orange, and other service related illnesses that would eventually take his life! I took care of my husband for over 35 years and kept my vows, despite traumatic events that occurred do to his service related illnesses, still Veteran’s Affairs the VA, told me sorry we can’t help you! A widow over 70 they are willing to put on the street! Social security cut my daughters check over 400$ last month, and they too refuse to help! The government shutdown also will leave not just us, but millions of families hungry for the moth of November! I know it’s hard for everyone, and we all have our battles to fight! I hate to have to ask for help at this time, but I am left with no other options. If anyone of you that can afford it, even a dollar can help! I appreciate just the fact that you took your time to listen to my hardships! Everything and anything is appreciated! My heart goes out to everyone that is struggling especially in these hard times! Homelessness is in my daughters, as well as my near future unless we can find some relief! Thank you for taking your time to hear me out, Also if you are in a situation where you can help, I wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart! If we can raise enough to pay Novembers rent we should be back on our feet and we already have plans to pay it forward! Thank you, with love, hugs, and positive vibes Francine Rizzo.
