HELP Francesa - Tree crushed car in SNOVID

Donation protected

SNOVID, the winter storm that devastated Texas did massive damage to people & property last week. The story was national news and our tree & our dogsitter’s car even made the NY Times.

Francesca is a senior at the Ann Richard’s school and was kind enough to watch our dog, Mr Snowy, and house while we traveled to the second week of February for my birthday, little did we know what the forecast was bringing. On Friday, as we flew back into Austin the weather has started to turn. Francesca’s mother, Diane, thought it best that she leave her car and not risk driving in the wet & icy conditions and we agreed.

Anyone that lives in Texas knows what happened next, things went from bad to worse & a never before seen storm brought ice, snow, and freezing temps for the next week. Overall we handled it well until the last ice storm on Wednesday, that night the largest tree on our property, over 40’ tall,  could no longer handle the weight of it and fell directly on Francesca’s Prius. It crushed the roof & windshield totally the car.

Francesca LOVED her car and had planned on driving it through college. This makes an already tough year even more challenging. As many know, when insurance totals a car, very rarely do they give you enough to buy a new one. We want to do anything we can to help her be able to replace her ride and finish her last year of high school on a positive note so she can go into the world and spread her wonderful spirit.

Any support would-be grateful appreciated by us, Francesca & her family.
