Most of you know me as Ponch, and I rarely post about anything anywhere, but it’s with a heavy heart that I’m reaching out to ask for help from my family and friends. My youngest sister (Frances) has been through an incredibly difficult journey these past few weeks. She first went into the hospital on Thanksgiving, where doctors discovered a severe infection in her foot. She remained hospitalized until December 9th, undergoing multiple procedures to clean out the infection.

After finally returning home, we hoped she was on the road to recovery—but just a week later, her home nurse noticed the wound wasn’t healing properly. The doctor immediately instructed her to return to the ER. After waiting a day and a half to be seen by specialists, she received devastating news: in order to stop the spread of the infection, they will need to amputate part of her leg.

My sister hasn’t been able to work since Thanksgiving, and with this surgery, her recovery will take even longer. She is the sole provider for her two young boys, and without her income, it won’t be long before bills start piling up. My goal is to raise enough to cover at least 3–4 months of expenses so she can focus on healing without the added stress of financial hardship.

I know this comes during the holiday season when everyone is stretched thin, but truly, every little bit helps. No amount is too small—your generosity will make a real difference in her life and her children’s lives during this incredibly challenging time.
