Help France live fully with Type 1 diabetes and ADHD
France is a bright, resilient, and extraordinary girl. She was diagnosed with moderate to severe ADHD when she was just 4 years old and has since received daily treatment with methylphenidate and ongoing psychological therapy to achieve stability. Today, at 9 years old, her story has taken a profound turn that has transformed our lives.
In June 2025, France suffered a severe episode of ketoacidosis and was hospitalized in critical condition. Doctors gave us just 24 hours to recover. During her stay, she was diagnosed with insulin-dependent Type 1 diabetes mellitus, a chronic disease requiring constant care. Doctors confirmed that this is a lifelong condition that requires very delicate management. She remained hospitalized for 8 days, bravely facing a drastic change in her life.
Currently, France depends on insulin to survive. She lives with constant hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia, situations that fill me with fear as a mother, since her body is still adapting. She needs glucose sensors to avoid the trauma of constant finger pricks, as well as an insulin infusion pump to improve her quality of life.
These devices will allow her to live a more manageable and higher-quality life. She also requires specialized medical tests to determine if her pancreas has completely stopped producing insulin.
Why do we need your help?
Our goal is to raise money to cover:
Insulin and other essential medications
Continuous glucose monitoring sensors
The insulin infusion pump
Specialist consultations and medical tests
Regular evaluations to monitor her organs and prevent further complications
Who is France?
France is neurodivergent and has a very high pain threshold, which has allowed her to adapt to her new life with surprising strength. She's fun, energetic, curious, passionate about art, and always seeks intense, emotional experiences.
Those who meet her fall in love with her immediately. It's not just because she is my daughter that I express this: It's because France has a light that shines wherever she is.
As a mother, I never imagined we would live this reality. It pains me to see her face so much, but all I can do is fight to make her life more bearable, dignified, and happy.
France, with her innate sweetness and determined outlook, represents the extraordinary in the everyday. Every day she fights a battle for her health, yet she never ceases to spread joy, art, and love.
