Help Fran Pay for Lymphedema treatment

Hello! I'm Frances Langum, and this past summer I was diagnosed with primary lymphedema. It's a disease that causes swelling in the extremities - in my case, particularly in my legs. I'm lucky -- I am responding to treatment, and insurance will cover my treatment once I meet my deductible. But I have over $6000 left on my deductible for the year and I need help coming up with that amount.

Primary lymphedema is a chronic condition that affects the lymphatic system, which is responsible for removing excess fluid and waste from the body. It occurs when the lymphatic vessels are in some way damaged or failing, which leads to a buildup of lymphatic fluid in the tissues. This fluid buildup causes swelling, usually in the arms or, as in my case, the legs, but it can also affect the face, neck, or abdomen. Primary lymphedema is a rare condition and is usually inherited. While there is no cure for primary lymphedema, it can be managed with various treatments, including compression therapy, manual lymphatic drainage, and exercise.

Primary lymphedema has had a significant impact on my quality of life. The swelling has led to pain, and difficulty moving, which can make it challenging to perform daily activities. I haven't been able to wear regular non-stretchy shoes for a couple of years. I am glad we found out what has been causing this swelling. As I said, I am responding to treatment and expect to improve my physical condition dramatically in the next few months.

I am so grateful for the support of my husband who has been a tremendous cheerleader in my treatment. Were it not for his encouragement, I think lymphedema might have destroyed my self-confidence.
