Fran is my dear friend who has been living in the United States for almost 23 years. She is a devoted mother to her daughter, who is an American citizen, and has built her life and community here. Fran is also a dedicated volunteer, spending much of her time supporting others in her community and working with a local nonprofit organization. Her commitment to helping others has made a real difference in the lives of many people around her.

Recently, Fran faced a devastating setback. After surviving domestic violence and having her VAWA status approved, she was confronted with new challenges from the immigration system. Due to recent changes and complications, the Board of Immigration Appeals activated a deportation order against her and stopped her work permit. Fran now has only 30 days to respond to the latest notice she received on 2/4/26.

Despite already spending a significant amount of money to fight for her right to stay, Fran urgently needs to cover additional legal fees to continue her battle. These funds will go directly toward legal assistance, giving her the chance to secure her status, keep her family together, and continue working to support her daughter.
