Help Fran As He Returns Home Again
The last four months have been heart-wrenching as we experienced not knowing if my husband Fran would live or ever be able to return home, after his severe stoke in February. COVID restrictions made it especially difficult for him due to no personal touch or visits from loved ones.
With his astounding return home on June 9th, we continue to hope for even further improvement through God’s help, expert care, the love of family and friends, and the inspiration from how far he has come and the meaningful possibilities ahead.
Challenges remain as he is currently unable to stand, walk, or turn in bed, without full assistance, compounded by incontinence, serious injury to the left side of his body, and inability to swallow liquids unless thickened (but he can now swallow softened food under careful supervision, and his appetite and strength are growing).
We believe this remarkable man deserves the opportunities for progress and quality of life that are only possible with ongoing 24-hour home care and extensive personal therapy. It is our way to help return the love and hope to him that he has graciously given to so many others for so long.
We are deeply moved by the many who have asked how they can help Fran as he returns home again, financially and otherwise, as we try to provide him the necessary care for the next phase of his recovery. If able, please help us toward our goal of $25,000 to cover the substantial costs beyond insurance for the next 3 months (including his home transition, daily care, transportation needs, on-site 24/7 nursing assistance, specialized feeding/incontinence/therapy supplies, and more). Your notes and cards also continue to be especially meaningful and may be sent to Fran now at home (2613 Noble Dr, Tallahassee, FL 32308).
We are forever grateful for your love, prayers, kind words, and thoughtful generosity.
