Help Frail Talk Get Back On The Road

Hi it’s Cor & Al here! We’re touring musicians of the band Frail Talk and are in need of some support. On Friday May 2nd, a couple weeks into tour, our van was broken into in broad daylight in Chicago and thousands of dollars of music gear / personal items stolen. We were able to recover our computers, but much equipment is still missing and likely not recoverable.

Were continuing to search most thoroughly for one specific item: Al’s mother’s flute - Al’s mom passed away in October and this was her childhood flute. If you live in Chicago feel free to help us search pawn shops/music stores/online etc. though we unfortunately don’t have great descriptors/pictures. Here’s what we do have: silver flute in hard black case with black interior, D or D# trill key was broken/stuck open (image below) and had a piece of green tape on it when we last had it.

We still have a few weeks left of this tour and are doing everything we can to stay on the road and continue to play shows as this band is our main livelihood. Claims have been submitted to insurance but it’s very hard to predict what we will be able to be compensated for. In the meantime, we are humbly asking for any support you may be able to offer so that we can replace the necessary gear, recoup from costs to replace our windows, and continue on playing shows. We are so deeply grateful for this community and so grateful that our losses weren’t any worse. Your love and generosity is felt and appreciated beyond words - thank you.
