Help Foxy Flourish, Failed By "Rescue"
Donation protected
Foxy was adopted from Doggedly Dog Rescue Society in Houston, Texas in January 2021. Foxy had obvious pain symptoms, including limping when she arrived at her foster home in Washington. When the adopter reached out to Doggedly, Barbara, the executive director and founder, assured her it was probably just stiff from transport.
However, on December 7th, 2020, Barb clearly stated (above) she needed to book imaging for Foxy. This imaging was never completed, which was confirmed by CFH on November 2021.
When her adopter reached out to Barb in February 2021 Barb claimed the hip was "fully healed," and the adopter should consider physical therapy and weight pull. During this time, Barbara shamed the adopter in private conversations, calling her a "cheapskate" and implying she was "trying to take advantage of a non-profit."
The adopter, believing that Doggedly had Foxy's best interest at heart, agreed to try conservative healing. However after 10 months it was apparent the hip was not improving and surgical intervention would be needed. She reached back out to Doggedly in November 2021, asking them to assist with the costs as they had initially agreed.
Barbara responded that they would only help if Foxy returned to Texas (as you can see from previous screen shots - she intended to bring Foxy back to Texas and never return her to her adopters because she was "over them.")
Foxy's family was not comfortable sending her back on a stressful 36-hour transport while in pain and instead asked if Doggedly could just cover the cost of what surgery would have been in Texas, and they could cover the rest to ensure their dog had the best chance at a stress-free and easy healing process.
In typical Barbara fashion, Doggedly did not respond to the adopters and left them to foot the close to 5 thousand dollar bill. This was a bill they had not anticipated paying after already having paid a hefty adoption fee for a dog that was supposedly fully vetted.
