Help Me Get Back on My Paws – Love, Foxie
Hi, my name is Foxie, and I’m an 8-year-old Pomeranian. I love to run, go on hikes and play fetch. I also like to sleep in and be a lazy fox some days. One day i suddenly got really sick. I was losing energy, my humans don’t know exactly what’s wrong with me—neither do the doctors! They’ve run tests, and all we know is that my white blood cell count is high, some of my organs are swollen, and walking feels impossible. I try my best to walk but I keep stumbling over, like my legs just won’t listen to me anymore.
The veterinarians think maybe I ate something bad or even kennel cough but my parents suspect it could be a neurological thing. Whatever it is, it’s making me weaker and weaker. Right now, I can’t eat on my own, so my humans are feeding me pedialyte and blended food through an oral syringe.
They’ve taken me to multiple vet visits, doing everything they can to figure out what’s wrong but i am getting medication, but the bills are adding up fast—over $1,800 already. My humans are strong, proud, and hard-working. They never ask for help, but right now, we need it. Right now, they are losing much-needed rest by taking care of me, being at my bedside to ensure I have everything I need and am comfortable. They have also lost a few days of work taking me to multiple vets to get the care I need and answers about my condition.
We aren’t asking for more than what’s needed to cover my medical bills. If you can help, even a little, it means the world to us. And even if you can’t donate, just sharing my story will make a difference.
Thank you for taking the time to read about me. I hope one day soon, I’ll be back on my paws, running around, howling with joy and wagging my tail again. My Mommy and daddy will be posting updates as the week goes on! Thank you and god bless!
With love,
Foxie
**Update 1 – Foxie Needs a Neurologist **
Hey everyone, this is Francisco—Foxie’s dad. Unfortunately, we just received some difficult news. Foxie needs to see a neurologist and get an MRI, which is going to cost $5,000.
With my salary and our monthly bills, covering this would put us in major financial debt. If you know me, you know I’m the type who’s always working overtime, going above and beyond to make ends meet. I’ve already tried looking for extra sources of income—Amazon Flex, DoorDash, Spark ect.....—but I keep getting placed on waitlists.
Foxie isn’t just any dog—she’s family. She’s the kind of pup who gives kisses instead of bites, stays right by your side on walks instead of running off, and sleeps beside our heads, as if she’s protecting us even in her dreams.
We’re reaching out once more, asking for a little help. Every donation, every share, every bit of kindness means the world to us right now. If you’re unable to donate, even sharing this could help us reach someone who can.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We won’t stop fighting for Foxie.
Update 2—
We just left Foxie at the neurologist, and as of 5/24/2025, 1:20 p.m., we received a message saying they started the MRI. If nothing comes up then they will initiate a spinal fluid extraction to dig deeper as to why shes not herself. As soon as we get the results, I'll let all of you know what is going on. Thank you to everyone who donated, checked on her and shared the post. We hope this visit will give us a final answer on what is going on with her.

Update #3
5/25/2005
Good news/ somewhat bad news
Good news MRI and Spinal fluid results came back good
Spinal fluid results came back with partial preliminary results. The cell count is "quite normal" according to Dr. Sun. We are still waiting for the rest of the report, which we will probably get next week.
MRI showed no structural abnormalities. No tumors were reported; they scanned her neck, and everything looked good. They also performed a blood test to assess Foxy's liver function, and it was within normal limits.
When we picked her up later in the day apparently she didn't want to be left alone in a kennel, so everyone who worked there, were taking turns holding foxy, and when we got there, they told us that she was helping someone do laundry.
Bad news is that they dont know whats causing this but hopefully with the final part of the spinal we get answers.
Again thank you to all who donated, keep checking in on us and foxie and sharing her story. We love all of you and hope you have a blessed day.
Update 3 1/2
5/26/2025
Hey everyone just wanted to touch base with all of you. So foxie is showing small signs of progression. Its not much but she is. We're just taking things one step at a time. We are still feeding her through an oral syringe at times, but she is starting to eat more, and sometimes she'll eat bigger chunks of food out of a spoon. Her head still moves in a bobble-head movement, so that's what's kind of messing up her walking, balance and sometimes when she eats( she'll make a tiny mess, but we understand she's trying). We are also making her do more PT so she doesn't get used to just being in bed all day. Earlier in the morning my mom was taking care of her and she took a video of foxie going to the restroom unassisted and she usually needs a swaddle running underneath her to help her walk like in the photo.

So progreesion is small but it hasn't flatlined she may have a small body but she has a big fire inside of her.
