My name is Emily Davis, and I’m creating this fundraiser for my dog Lyney and I during a very difficult and uncertain time. Along with many of you reading this, I lost my job at USAID last fall. Ever since then, I’ve been doing everything possible to stay afloat while searching for new work. Like many of you, I have been interviewing for numerous positions and continuing my job search every day, but in the meantime, the loss of income has created an urgent financial crisis that I can’t manage on my own anymore.

Right now, I am behind on my mortgage and getting dangerously close to foreclosure. In July, I was also in a car accident that set things back despite having insurance and not being at fault. The funds raised here will help me catch up on delinquent mortgage payments, avoid losing my home, and cover emergency living expenses while I wait to hear back from interviews. Those who know me know that I am not someone who usually asks for help, and it is incredibly hard to do this personally, but am in a position where support is urgently needed.
