HELP Former UNLV Runnin' Rebel George Ackles

PLEASE HELP our former Slam Dunking Runnin' Rebel Star GEORGE ACKLES get his health back! In August 2020, George was offered a wonderful career opportunity in the beautiful city of Chicago, so with opportunities at a standstill in glitzy Las Vegas, George moved everything to Chicago to begin this new adventure, working regularly in the profession he is so well equipped to do: Security!
On Friday, March 5th, 2021 George woke up with excruciating low back pain, to which he has NEVER experienced in his life. He had a temperature above 103 and could not imagine what had happened to him overnight. Hoping it would pass, he did what he could over the weekend to survive, but when his temperature elevated and the pain worsened, he called 911 Monday and was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital and admitted March 9, 2021. With an incredible team of Doctors, Specialists and Surgeons by his side, they began testing, imaging and eliminating. A detailed MRI showed an Intraspinal abscess (from an unknown cause), Septic Arthritis and Arachnoiditis. All believed to be stemming from a Staphylococcus Aureus in his blood. A needle aspiration was performed and results are still pending. After seven days in the Hospital, the administration discovered the Health Insurance George has through his work was never initiated and his Union benefits do not kick in until this summer. George was not well enough to be discharged and the Hospital kept treating him as his Liver levels were unstable as well. On day eight, the antibiotics started making a difference and his high temperature finally broke. George was at last able to carry on a conversation and even get up out of bed for the very first time. PT and OT began working with him in order to send him home safely. After ten days in the Hospital, George was discharged to home self care. With a PICC Line in place, he will be on 24/7 antibiotics until at least April 22, 2021 per the Infectious Disease Team who oversaw his care while admitted in the Hospital. The Hospital Social Worker arranged for the needed antibiotics thru charity, but George is on his own to administer and keep his PICC Line flushed and cleaned daily.
Unsure of when he can return to work after this initial line of treatment, all of the medical bills incurred without active insurance, George needs our help to remain on his feet and see a light at the end of this tunnel. His future treatments and medical needs are uncertain at this time and being homebound until at least April 22 is daunting.
