Greetings! Most folks call me D! About my photo. It is from when I was a... homeless Vet; living in a tent. After an invitation to this new church, I was invited to the home of a nice retired couple. I learned the gentleman had a home photography business. I asked if he would take a few photos of me, for the posterity of my time as a homeless Vet. He graciously obliged. The photo was taken in the summer of 2010.

Just a couple of months after this photo was taken, with no prior positive prospects, miraculously... through HUD-VASH, I was out of my tent and in a great apartment! I have TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) which for me, wiped out much of my past and most of my childhood. I see it this way: "Since much of my past is a mystery, I live in the present and look to the future." Friends believe my resolve is remarkable! I credit GOD.

Like most folks, I was productive; until Covid 19 and the Pandemic! Then, as the "lockdown" continued, the money being saved for major dental work... disappeared! I cannot just be idle! So then, I worked on a plan for a unique new business. A few smart and successful friends served as sounding boards! They believe it is a brilliant idea for a small business! Again, I credit GOD.

In closing, what is needed, in addition to the major dental work; is to be able to make my new business legit and purchase transportation. I am always practical. My favorite SUV is the X-Terra, which Nissan discontinued in 2015. Lastly, my dream is simply to live a peaceful life outside of a small town. I am just a country boy living in Fort Worth. In square miles the city is huge! But downtown has a more intimate feel to it. So, I like the 2-mile walk to the library. For many years, the view from my balcony has been many beautiful pecan trees. But very soon, they are going to literally, "Pave Paradise... to put in a Parking Lot!" On the only bright side, it is providing the push that has been needed to motivate me to move forward! So you all know, the donation goal is listed as 100K, because the Bible states... "You have not because you ask not." Meaning, if you don't ask, the answer is no. It is a matter of faith. Don't limit GOD.
