Hey everyone! We are ForGranted Media, a blog and data analytics company focused on providing finance, tech, and business education for the nonprofit industry.
We're seeking to raise at least $30,000 for operating costs, website revamp, paying staff, and development of our GeoFencing application as we continue raising our pre-seed round of capital.
Here is a video on What is ForGranted Media in 60 seconds!
Why ForGranted Media Began (Founder Story):
Transparently, I didn't want to make my story the first part of the campaign. However, I believe that it is important to understand why we started this (ad)venture. My name is Josh Rogers. Being a young black man who grew up in the inner-city, to say nonprofit organizations saved my life would be an understatement. My first jobs were mentorships, advocacy groups, and public speaking engagements from the YMCA and Boys & Girls Club.

During a time when the Tri-State & NY Metropolitan area had one of the greatest influxes of drugs and crime, where many of my friends were killed or incarcerated, I found refuge working in education and community outreach in the South Bronx and Harlem (DreamYard Art Center and Americorps, respectively).
Fast forward to being 22 years old and homeless in Oakland, CA...
A violence prevention organization known as Youth Alive! gave me the opportunity of a lifetime to work with thousands of students in the city and organizations across the United States, leading youth programs and seminars to curb violence in the community.

I then went on to work in Silicon Valley, California (One of the worlds largest Tech Hubs) in Sales and Marketing serving nonprofit organizations and other educational institutions.
All of this to say that my foundational beliefs are rooted in the spirit of nonprofit service. And to give back by any means necessary are at the core of ForGranted Media. My mission in life, while impossible, is to pour back the same amount of love that has been poured into me. The purest expression of that passion to serve and love the way I have been loved, in its rawest form, is ForGranted Media!
Again, this is no longer just about me, but a team of creatives and visionaries who see the future of nonprofits and how organizations can continue to change the world on new levels.
The Biggest Problems Nonprofits Face:
The biggest fear I have about this industry is that organizations will lose the funding to continue to do the amazing work for youth and families that saved my life growing. This is due to a lack of knowledge and resources to account for the changing marketplace.
We started ForGranted Media from a place of love and desire to help nonprofits evolve. For over ten years in the nonprofit space, I know people want to use these
5.7% of the United States GDP comes from the nonprofit sector, which comes up to $2.62 trillion in revenue. Why is it then that nonprofits struggle with funding and service?
The ForGranted mission:
With the ForGranted Media blog, we intend to solve this issue through recent news and information on all things business, finance, and tech for nonprofits. These free resources have reached over a 200,000+ monthly readership thus far. We as an organization understand that education is at the core of nonprofit growth.
Now, we are taking it a step further with the ForGranted Marketplace and attempting to solve the funding issue with a sound business and finance education. This is unfortunately low on the list of priorities for nonprofits, but the most vital.
This is also why we are creating ForGranted Market (Set to release early 2024)!
The ForGranted Marketplace provides easily accessible and affordable digital nonprofit courses curated directly from nonprofit experts. All courses in the ForGranted Marketplace are discounted exclusively through the marketplace.
With access to advanced training, nonprofits can create more jobs, better fundraisers, donor relationships, and the ability to speed up nonprofit funding efforts with complex technology. And this means more money for a good cause!
Our goal:
We are raising $30,000 to launch the ForGranted Marketplace so it can be accessible to the public, specifically nonprofit organizations across the United States.
This money will go toward a site revamp to prevent constant website crashes, advertising, and for research for educational content, advertising, and content creation.
The most dire use of these funds will be to provide livable wages for the ForGranted team during the launch process. We have to pay our writers, software developers, and social media and marketing experts. And lastly, it will cover any additional operational expenses to keep the site and marketplace functioning properly for easy use.
Our team is working tirelessly to get the site launched and to reach the folks who need it the most. And these brilliant minds deserve to be fairly compensated.
This is a commitment for every single one of us, and we have spent over $25,000 in out-of-pocket expenses for this vision. Now we ask for help to continue the journey.
With a deep sense of humility, the ForGranted team asks for any amount that you are comfortable donating. If you cannot contribute, share this campaign with your network via Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram, friends and family, and your local nonprofits.
We promise to provide regular updates on our progress and how your contributions are being used. Your support will be acknowledged every step of the way.
Nonprofits need funds, and we hope to bring them closer to it. Nonprofits are struggling, and we don’t want them to get left behind. They have resources out there, and now they’ll have the time and savings to explore them. With courses, they will learn the things they don’t know, grow, and develop the business, finance, and tech skills to thrive.
We stand by our motto: “Real dollars for real people.”
Our campaign ends on December 17th, 2023, so time is of the essence!
Final words:
We want to express our deepest gratitude for your consideration to support us on this venture. Your generosity means the world to us.
We are also eternally grateful for our affiliate partners like Skillshare and Coursera for helping this marketplace come into fruition.
One love,
The ForGranted Team
