Celebrating 45 Years of Vision - One Permanent Home

For approximately 45 Years, Forces of Nature Dance Theatre, also known as “FORCES”, has been a beacon of cultural expression, spiritual enlightenment, and artistic excellence since 1981. Founded in Harlem NY, Forces of Nature Dance Theatre has weathered over four decades of cultural shifts, 9/11, COVID-19, political shifts, economic hardship, and gentrification while remaining a pillar of Harlem’s artistic soul.

We've turned church basements, borrowed studios, and international stages into sacred dynamic spaces for movement, music, and theatre. Now, we are asking you to help us secure something we’ve never had: a permanent home in which our legacy, our youth, and our future will not only survive but thrive.

The Legacy & Light Fundraising: Initiative As part of our upcoming 45th anniversary, we are raising $450,000 to ensure Forces Of Nature has a home in Harlem where dance, culture, and community can flourish for generations to come.

Your donation will help directly support:

Administrative Staff
Rehearsal and performance space in Harlem
Artist and staff payroll
Youth training and community classes
Community based programs (Juneteenth, Kwanzaa, Harlem week, etc. )
Archiving and legacy preservation

Giving Levels: You can support this campaign at any level, but we’ve created tiers to honor the elemental forces that have shaped our journey and support that reflect the spirit of giving:

Earth – $45

Provides rooted support to keep us grounded in community. Helps youth access training in Harlem.

Water – $145

Sustains the creative flow of our work by supporting rehearsal and rental costs.

Fire – $450

Ignites artistic excellence by funding our dancers, choreographers, and creative teams.

Air – $1,450

Elevates our public programming and allows us to continue offering free community performances throughout the year.

Ether – $4,500

Preserves our legacy while elevating “Forces” ability as an institution to heal, protect, and empower the spirit and well-being of our families and communities, here in the US and abroad.
