Help for Zaznova as He Learns to Walk Again

On the evening of July 6, 2024, just two days after the birth of his third child, Michael Braxton - a.k.a. Zaznova - experienced a horrific car accident that almost took his life. Swerving to avoid a rabbit in the road, his car was wrenched out of control when hitting and snagging the curb, and was redirected headfirst into a tree before he could recover. Thankfully nobody else was hurt.

As you can see from the accident photos, Michael is extremely lucky to be alive. However he has suffered fractures to both his neck and spine which required emergency surgery the very next day to rejoin the spine and pelvis. He is now awaiting transfer to a rehab facility to start the long road to recovery. Goal 1: Learn how to walk again.

As a father of three, varied artist, break dancer, musician and bartender, Michael’s life and livelihood by nature is extremely active. This accident has left him in a place without recourse to address the day to day living expenses of keeping a roof over his children's heads, making sure they are well fed and healthy; not to mention the impending increased costs of childcare that will be needed until he can - quite literally - get back on his feet. Unfortunately medical and auto insurance are of no help here.

So yes we are asking for your help in any way you feel so moved to do so. This is just the first step in a long road, and is SO very critical to true recovery. Your help ensures peace of mind for Michael's children - a newborn baby girl, 6 year old autistic son, and 7 year old delightfully exuberant daughter - so he can maintain focus on this crucial first stage of healing.
