Hello everyone,
On December 16, 2021, The Philippines got struck by a category 5 super typhoon, called Typhoon Rai.
My name is Pat Shea. I live in the United States in the state of California. A few months ago, I started a company that provides scholarships for people in developing nations, such as The Philippines, to make money as professional competitive video game players. Five of my scholars in The Philippines have been severely impacted by the typhoon. Their names are Allan, RJ, Filzen, Jaelyn, and Mike. All of their homes were severely damaged. Some of their houses were completely destroyed. My scholars and their families now have no shelter, and are struggling to gather together enough food and water to survive.
They have very little access to the internet, as the typhoon wiped out most of that infrastructure. When they can access the internet, they send me messages begging for some kind of help. I have felt heartbroken reading their messages and seeing the pictures they've sent me of the devastation in their villages.
Their government has provided very little support for them. They are on their own and struggling to survive.
As the only person they know in the United States, I feel a deep sense of responsibility to do something to help them. I've started this fundraiser to provide some financial support for my scholars and their families in their time of need.
All money raised will be sent directly to my scholars, to help them buy food and water for themselves and their families, and to rebuild their homes.
If you can provide any amount of support at all, it would make a big difference.
Thank you.
