Dear friends,
I am reaching out with a heavy heart. My hometown, Bogo City and the northern part of Cebu in the Philippines, was recently struck by a devastating earthquake. Families are left with nothing—homes reduced to rubble, loved ones displaced, and many struggling to meet the most basic needs of survival: clean water and food.
For those of us living here in Canada, it is hard to imagine waking up with no roof over your head, no safe water to drink, and no food to give your children. Yet this is the harsh reality for thousands of families back home right now.
Every day, the people of northern Cebu are facing unimaginable hardship. Relief is slow, and communities are desperate for immediate help. What they need most are life essentials—safe drinking water, rice, canned goods, and other basic food supplies.
I may be far from home, but my heart is with my family, friends, and neighbors who are suffering. That is why I am humbly asking for your compassion and generosity.
No donation is too small—whether it’s $10, $20, or more. Together, we can bring hope and relief to those who feel forgotten. Every contribution will go directly to helping families get through this crisis with dignity and survival.
Canada has always been a place of kindness and solidarity. Let us extend that spirit across the ocean to Cebu, where every dollar means food on the table and water to drink for someone in dire need.
Please consider donating today. And if you can, kindly share this campaign with your friends, family, and community. Together, we can make a difference.
From the bottom of my heart—thank you for standing with us in this time of great need.
With gratitude,
Kate
