I am in need of help for our Vannah. Our Vannah is an American Bulldog and our very first American Bulldog. Our last was a Rot that we recently had to let her go as she was 13 years old. Our Vanna we have had since a baby and she is now just 5 years old. She has never had any health issues as the report shows and recently just 5 weeks ago she started urinating blood. After 4 weeks back and forth to the vet, antibiotics thinking UTI and did not stop. The vet then took X-Rays and showed large mass. The vet said I needed to take her to one of two places and have an ultrasound done. I took her to UW Veterinary Care University of Wisconsin/Madison on January 9th, 2017 for the ultrasound/again bloodwork, tests, etc. They found the mass in the ultrasound and is renal carcinoma. It is her right kidney. I know this may sound stupid but I am just beside myself. I have been a male single parent of 3 and have had our dogs our entire life. The kids all grown up and out on their own and is now just dad and Vannah. She is only 5 and the doctor said we simply have no time if we wish the most success and for this to not spread and to have surgery as quickly as possible. I am in shock to say the least. I have worked my whole life with no chance of savings as a single parent and lost my great job when the company pulled out of IL. I have been working hard at rebuilding a life long business starting 6 months before the comapny left town which took most good chance away but I am still working and building and finally getting somewhere once again. I guess you would really have to understand me. Our dogs are not dogs, they are my children and always have been. What is killing me is Vannah as you can see in report seems to not even know she has this other than of course me falling apart. I have never had such a sensitive best friend in my life and so smart. Doc says she is so strong, this is such a rare cancer, her health is great, I cannot stomache the thought of not doing all possible as I cannot even look at her now without thinking I am terrible, what am I going to do? She follows me everywhere, goes on rides with me, she is to healthy and only just 5 for this to happen and she looks and acts fully healthy. The doctor believes we caught this quick as well as from all tests taken and done thus far and would offer a cat scan at half price if we can do this at time of surgery (just before) to look closely and ensure no spreading before surgery. She is everything to me and all I have. I thank anyone that has the heart and means to help someone here in real need and a parent with more love for her baby than words could ever say. I thank you. I tried to load the report from UW but will not let me here. Please feel free to check with UW Veterinary care University of Wisconsin/Madison. Vanna Larson as they forgot the h. The report shows a cost of approx. $4000.00 with no complications and an additional 500 (was 1000) for cat scan for one last check to ensure nothing has spread which was good 2 days ago. Unfortunately, there are no payment options which makes this most difficult to try to save Vannah.
