Help for Tova's Road to Recovery

Anyone who knows Tova knows she is someone who lives up to her name (Tova is Old Norse for "Beautiful Thor!")! She has always commanded the room with her own version of thunder! She's always been a funny, spunky, full of life and very smart little girl. She loves to dance, and sing along to Frozen and Moana along with quoting her favorite Sheriff Woody lines and she loves all things Disney!

Sadly, on 30th November Tova was involved in a near-fatal drowning accident. CPR was administered immediately by her mother at the scene until Porterville Police and Porterville City Fire were able to take over. CPR and epinephrine were administered to her en route to the hospital and after agonizing minutes of CPR she had a pulse. Her condition upon arrival at Sierra View Hospital was dire. She was immediately transferred over to Valley Children's Hospital via Helicopter that night where she was breathing with the support of a ventilator, put on a number of medications to revive her organs, and receiving emergency care in PICU. She is still experiencing frequent neuro-storming and posturing in the days following her accident. Even through these events she still has moments of being Tovie and smiling or looking and tracking her Mom and Dad along with their voices.

Over three weeks later Tova is currently still in the hospital receiving medical care and different therapies to help determine the extent of her injuries from the accident and what her possible capabilities will be in the upcoming days, weeks, months and years. She has a long road to recovery, but we know Tova is a fighter and will remain strong!

Funds collected will help cover expenses such as her hospital stay, services, stroller/chair, braces, additional therapies, Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and other expenses incurred during her recovery.

Our family is so grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers and support received during the most difficult time we have ever faced. We appreciate any support during this long road to recovery for our little Tovie girl.
