What should be a happy occasion with the birth of their daughter, has turned into a scary and trying time for our brother and sister-in-law, Timothy and Amber.

Wrenley Mae was born on July 22, 2025 and diagnosed with what the hospital thought was “fluid in her lungs”. After spending a week in the NICU and being discharged home, her parents noticed that she seemed to be struggling with breathing and was then rushed to CHKD for evaluation and treatment. Upon being assessed at CHKD, Wrenley was diagnosed with Discontinuous Left Pulmonary Artery and Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD).

Discontinuous Left Pulmonary Artery: is a condition where the left pulmonary artery, which normally extends the main pulmonary artery to the left lung, is separated or interrupted, which causes Pulmonary Hypertension and Reduced Blood Flow.

VSD: Is a birth defect where there is a hole in the wall separating the heart’s two lower chambers (ventricles). This results in the blood flowing abnormally from the left ventricle to the right ventricle through the hole, which means that some oxygenated blood is sent back into the lungs again, increasing the workload of the heart and lungs.

Due to these diagnoses, little Wrenley is having to undergo heart surgery at just 2 weeks old.

We are asking for help for our brother and sister-in-law. Understandably, they want to be there for their daughter while she faces these health battles, and will be missing work to be present for their family. Not only do they have Wrenley’s conditions to focus on, but they also have three other children at home, that need attention and care.

Tim and Amber value family above everything. We are asking for help in anyway possible to try and easy their financial and emotional burdens and allow them the opportunity to focus on Wrenley’s health and care.
