Dear brothers, friends, and family,

We are the Luna family: Iraldo, Anny, Julius, Sarah, Benjamin, and Judah. We are Reformed Christians, serving the Lord for the growth of His kingdom and the praise of His glory. I, Iraldo Luna, have received from the Lord the mission of caring for this family, a mission I carry out with the fear of the Lord and with great care that this reverence may be part of our daily life.

I am a pastor at the Reformed Church of Brasília, a church affiliated with the Reformed Churches of Brazil, and I have been serving in the ministry the Lord entrusted to me for the past nine years. I have been preaching and teaching weekly with the strength that comes from the Lord, relying solely on Him. I do this with joy, as I feel no calling other than to preach and teach the Holy Scriptures. This is how my journey in the gospel began — a conversion that led to a calling to ministry.

From the moment of my spiritual rebirth, I have desired to study theology. Over the years, I have pursued this calling through the sacred work of ministry. However, it pleased the Lord to open doors that would allow me to dedicate myself more deeply to theological studies to better serve His church. Last year, an opportunity arose for me to pursue a Master’s degree in Theology at Canadian Reformed Theological Seminary (CRTS).

From the very beginning, many blessings have come through the Lord's kindness. I received a full scholarship, including all the necessary support to sustain my family. The seminary has been very generous and has ensured that the Luna family will be well cared for.

However, some challenges had to—and still must—be overcome. The institution did not commit to covering the costs related to our move to Canada, which is understandable given the generous support they have already granted us. Therefore, we had to seek help for documentation, airline tickets, medical exams, and consultations. By God's grace, we received assistance for all of these. The Lord is our provider!

Even so, we are still on a journey to complete this mission. Some needs still must be met before we can go. These come at a high cost, especially from a Brazilian financial standpoint.

Our trip is scheduled for the first week of July. We need to arrive by then to get settled before my classes begin in early September. This brings some important challenges. We will be traveling with only a few clothes, as we will not be able to carry much luggage.

Therefore, we will still need resources for this transition. We will need to sustain ourselves for a month in Hamilton before we begin receiving support from the seminary. We will also need to buy personal and household items since we are bringing only a few clothes, as well as some books for the children. In addition, we will need to purchase a car, as we are a family of six. We also will need to cover some expenses related to the children’s education. There are also other needs that we have not been able to list here, but which will surely arise along the way.

All of these needs are too great for us to meet alone — especially when considering the exchange rate between the Brazilian Real and Canadian Dollar. It would be impossible for us to raise such an amount on our own.

For this reason, we believe it is right to share our needs with our brothers and friends. That is why we are coming to you through this fundraising campaign to ask for your help. You can be sure that everything is being carefully planned so that resources will be used wisely, responsibly, and with deep awareness that every cent is valuable and a demonstration of trust in us.

We pray that the Lord may bless each of you, regardless of financial contribution. May both we and you be used for the good of the gospel and the glory of Christ.
